Marcus Joins Ricketty Bridge

Soon after arriving in the area Marcus joined a band called Ricketty Bridge where he is expanding his music of the Nyckelharpa (known in English as the Key Fiddle)..  It is a sheer joy to hear the band practice an array of music styles and hear the orchestral sounds of the key fiddle compliment together with vocals, whistles, recorders, guitar, bodrum, spoons, piano accordian, button accordian, clarinet, kromhorn and mandolin.
Marcus grew up around the renasonce barok sounds of his parents music group called Au Jolie Bois in the Netherlands, and to hear and see him fit in with his Nyckleharpa reflects familiarity in his music style.
Marcus intends to perform in the future around the districts with Ricketty Bridge.

Hunkydory Puppets on the Move Again to Central Victoria

Our next stop is Central Victoria where we are currently living.  The move into the bio-regions of Mount Alexander, Central Goldfields, Bendigo, Macedon Ranges, Pyrenees, Northern Grampians Shires gives us much delight as we enjoy the artistic, creative, and open minded nature of these districts.  On one of our early morning walks we were greeted by an amazing view of light filtering through the trees..

Hunkydory Puppets At Perisher's Festival of Music

In June, 2012 Hunkydory Puppets went to the Perisher Snow Fields and were a big hit at the Childrens Festival for the Snowy Mountains Festival of Music.

School Program Developed In Canberra

During our stay in Canberra as part of the Bungee Program we developed a 9 week puppet making program which we took to 3 different primary schools.  Each class was an hour long and by the end of the 9 weeks 6 different simple puppets were made by the students.  Here are some of them!!

Recapping our 1 year Canberra Experience

HunkyDory Puppets were in Canberra for 12 months from July 2011 to July 2012.  Whilst in ACT Marcus was busy developing and making several new puppets!  He also created a hand cranked minitaure puppet machine that when you cranked the handle several moving things happened at the same time. Marcus has ideas of pursuing art therapy for adults with some of his puppet making ideas and skills.
Together with this Carolyn and Marcus developed 9 lessons in simple puppet making.

They taught this program in primary schools to assist students to build self esteem and confidence. The school program was very successful, as was our stay in Australia's capital, where we performed at the Tuggeranong Arts Festival, Belconnen Arts Centre as well as the Disability Festival at Queanbeyan.
